Cheese

We recently got a little Joby tripod for the camera. Super cool. I was messing around with the kids, trying to get pictures using the timer thingy on the camera. I need a lot of practice. Geesh!

Too far away, with too much extra junk.

Uh. Too close. Not centered.

Hello. Why am I bending over?

Head chop.

Never mind. I'll just take a picture of the kids...

Let's Hear it for the Boy

My kids are all napping. Scott is out pollinating his raspberries. My own dad is vacationing with the fam in Montana. I am wasting time on the Internets.

I might as well tell you what we will be having here for dinner, to celebrate Scott. One of the world's 2 best dads. Mike Lutz is the other one. (I realize that some may disagree with my declaration. But, keep in mind that I have witnessed Mike Lutz's fathering my entire life. And, I have witnessed Scott's fathering ever since he was first a father.)

menu to be continued.... all 3 of my kids just woke up.....

here's what is marinating...

Self - Potrait

Mother & Child
Yesterday afternoon, Moira & I just had some quiet time in the rocking chair, while the other kids were napping. She looks a little jabba-ish here with her chub. But, still cute, in my opinion.
She just had a check up & is now 10 lbs. She is growing up. She is still a sweet baby & we still love her tons & tons.

Felt Sweeties

For quite a while, I have been planning on fashioning a new mobile for the nursery. The airplanes are still hanging in there.

My idea for the new one is to make little felt sweets, like candies, cupcakes, etc... Since, girls are made of sugar & spice. I thought that would be nice.

I haven't started the project at all. The thought occurred to me today that maybe I could buy someone else's felt sweets off of Etsy. I found some I like....

Tasty

Delicious

Perfect

But. This lady isn't just passing out her felt artwork. It would end up being a pricey mobile to buy a collection of her treats. I think I will have to use the photos of her work for inspiration to make my own. Do check out her work. British Cream Tea on Etsy.

A Makeover

I don't know if anyone recalls some of the disasters that involved our poor couch - such as this one... You know, the one that is the color formerly known as white?
Well. She has had a makeover!

Katie Baker of Sew That's It made this great looking & fully washable slipcover for the couch. It has been wonderful. And, washed twice in a month.

It Was Like Christmas

Just before dinner, we got a couple of boxes delivered to us, from Papa Bill & Nana. The kids were excited about the boxes. But, even more excited when they were opened. It was like Christmas around here. They were packed with adorable clothes. Our kids will be styling this summer! Gillian is really excited about her new golden yellow jelly sandals.
They got to wear their new jammies to bed tonight. They were pretty happy. Gillian was rolling around on her bed, giggling & said to me, "Mommy, look at me. I very happy right now." Her jammie set even has a tutu. Dreamy.

Speaking of bed. -We took a gutsy step forward last weekend & moved Peyton into the big kid's room. We had not been looking forward to this. Both of the kids were still waking in the night. Peyton would just wake & cry a few times a night. And Gillian usually has to get up to go potty at least once a night. And, Peyton has always been a pretty light sleeper.
We had no idea what was going to happen & if this would work or not. That first night was rather traumatic for Peyton. He screamed for a long time. He used to go to bed without crying at all. But, the next couple nights, we cried less. Tonight, he didn't cry! And, they were in there laughing & talking for a little while. It was pretty stinkn' cute.
Peyton doesn't really wake up anymore. It seems that it must be comforting for him to be in the room with his sister. He doesn't even wake up when she gets up to go to the bathroom.
So far, we are totally amazed & happy by how well this transition has gone.
